Hector Rail will run three intermodal trains per week for Captrain Solutions. The trains will run from Ehrang (German-French border) to Helsingborg. The train originates at the intermodal terminal in Bettembourg (Luxemburg). Between Bettembourg and Ehrang Captrain Solutions has contracted Fret SNCF and Captrain Deutschland. Bettembourg has connections from Spain and other countries. This new service introduces a seamless rail link for intermodal transports between the Spanish Border and Scandinavia operated by VIIA.
For this operation Hector Rail uses their Bombardier Traxx F140AC2 cross border locomotives with installed safety systems for Sweden, Denmark and Germany. Hector Rail has 12 locomotives of this kind, which are well proven for traffic between Scandinavia and the Continent. Each train can carry 38 trailers, which corresponds to more than 10,000 trailers per year on electrified tracks instead of on congested highways.
Captrain Solutions is Hector Rail’s customer. Their role is within the SNCF Geodis group to coordinate the rail link between Bettembourg and Helsingborg. The overall responsible for the intermodal product is, however, VIIA,
Both companies are owned by the SNCF Geodis Group. Captrain Solutions is a railway forwarder in charge of promoting and organizing seamless international railway transport.
With this service Hector Rail strengthens its position as the leading private traction provider in the corridor Scandinavia – Germany. The operation has recently started.
